Yes. Buy a locker. Aussie makes a great one that alot of Jeepers use. Best bang for the buck bar none.

I personally love mine and don't regret spending the $250 bucks on it. Made a night and day difference off road. Good luck!

This: http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_tj_combo_2.html is a good proven start at growin a TJ up some for reasonable monies. Of course it will eventually lead to the need for bigger tires which may require new gears.

Of course you can't forget armour for the rocks, drivetrain upgrades and an endless list of things that can be had for your TJ.

Come to some meetings and rides and the TJ people will have you all knowledged up before you know it.

Given a little time you will come to know exactly what you want to do with your rig and that will help you know what is next.

Welcome to the addiction. :welcome:

x2
doing the low COD setup like Matt's got, 2.5" coils, 1" BL, 1" MML, Tube fenders, Dura trac 33's (for now will ultimately go with 35's way down the road), regeared to maybe 4.10 or a little higher, upgrading various parts here and there like armor, swaybar system, lockers, yada yada yada... enjoy it while its small and the 2 rated trails are still relatively challenging, cuz you think you spend spend a lot on basic maintenance now... just wait... listening to the stories and woe's of the lifted guys on here... there is a reason they say Jeep stands for Just Empty Every Pocket...

just me rambling and bragging of the future, but cheers to the small guys, may our 31's rub, our belly pans hang low, and our D35 snap from the trail! :hifive: :drunk:

Damn thats a good price
Might have to be my next mod. I was just reading their site, they diff locks when you need it to lock but stays open under normal usage to allow the wheels to turn at different rates?

it locks when there's a load applied to it... for example, if it's in the front and you're in 2wd, it won't lock up at all because you're not applying power to that front diff... if it's in the rear, it will lock up anytime you press the gas... so you'll be coasting through the corners.
