Big thanks to john and nate for coming out today. Aint done, but almost supporting itself on its own weight.

got a lot of loose ends to finish up, but for the most part its 70% done and 60% ready for the trail.

I owe a lifetime supply of beer to john and nate... :drunk:

and what have we learned?

with gas a person can do it in 8 hours

chiseling welds is slower than melting them out

and...

everything should be in place before you start

seriously we tried air chiseling the welds, but blowing the welds out with a torch is 10x quicker.

compared to the grinder i liked it better if i had a fresh new tip that wasnt halfassly sharpened by me. The one spot i did good cut through it like butter and made the frame damn near smooth

Torch>chisel>grinder

Moral of today:
Have every damn thing layed out in the garage, keep tabs on everything, and dont trust or expect s### from other people unless their name is john purdy or nathan turner.

X2. Smooth as....well just really smooth if done right and no slag or overcuts into the frame. Everybody has their own thing though.

He worked on one weld in the same amount of time I blew out the welds on the other side and ground completely smooth. I tried it with the air chisel and had the same results, the chisel had a good/decent edge .I'd love to see it done, I just can't see all the noise and effort being any quicker than someone spraying the weld off the frame with a torch. Everyone has their methods, like I said I'd love to see it happen to use it if it works better :D
